Here’s a simple recipe for pasta:

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, linguine, or your preferred type)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water, following the package directions until it’s al dente.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  3. Add the can of diced tomatoes (with juice), salt, and black pepper to the skillet. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Drain the cooked pasta and add it to the skillet with the tomato sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
  5. Stir in the chopped basil leaves and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until the sauce is heated through.
  6. Serve the pasta hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese.
